Hedge fund manager plans to redeem $39 million in Brooke investments
Interests associated with a Dallas-based hedge fund manager have notified Brooke Corp. that they intend to redeem preferred stock and dividends in the Overland Park company worth $39 million.
QVT Financial, a US hedge fund known for its victory in a legal case against collapsed broker Refco, has bought a stake of more than 1% in troubled UK retail bank Northern Rock.
