Treasurys Rise on Safe-Haven Buying, Hedge Fund Rumors
NEW YORK (Dow Jones) - Prices of U.S. Treasurys were lifted, pushing yields lower, Wednesday as investors once more sought safe-haven investments, and rumors about large hedge fund losses dominated the market.
Nomura to buy 15% stake in US hedge fund
LONDON, December 19 (newratings.com) – Japanese securities firm Nomura Holdings Inc ( NSE.FSE ) Tuesday announced that it is purchasing a 15% stake in US hedge fund and private equity manager Fortress Investment Group LLC for around $888 million.
DKR Oasis former analyst to start Japan-focused equity hedge fund
Frederic Eechaute, a former senior analyst at DKR Oasis Management Co. LP, will start a Japan-focused equity hedge fund that trades stocks using its own analyst database. Eechaute, who will split time between Tokyo and Sydney, set up Instinct Capital in June to run the new fund that may open as early as September. Read the full story
