Drake to Shut Its Largest Hedge Fund, Plans New Fund This Year
May 1 (Bloomberg) -- Drake Management LLC, the New York- based firm started by former BlackRock Inc. money managers, is shutting its largest hedge fund, according to a letter to investors. It plans to start a new fund later this year.
County pension hedge fund loss nearly doubles
Sep. 23 (UNION-TRIBUNE): The county pension system's estimated losses from the crash of a Connecticut-based hedge fund have climbed to $87 million, nearly twice the figure given just two days ago. The latest estimate – which could still change – was based on new information from Amaranth Advisors, said Brian White, CEO of the San Diego County Employees Retirement Association.
